About The Position

The Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership to the faculty, staff, students, and parents of the District. This role involves developing, managing, and evaluating all operations while overseeing and providing guidance to all members of the Leadership Team, which includes Assistant Principals, Directors, Department Chairs, and Deans. The Principal collaborates with staff, students, and families to achieve a shared district mission and vision, ensuring that each student has the opportunities and support needed to reach their unique potential.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (Ed.S, Ed.D, or Ph.D degrees preferred).
  • PEL with Illinois Administrative Certificate (General Administrative or Principal Endorsement).
  • Valid Illinois Qualified Teacher and Principal Evaluation Designation.
  • Progressive experience in teaching, related education specialty, supervision or administration.
  • Excellent human relations and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising and developing educational leaders.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of school administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, materials, procedures, and practices of the specialties assigned.

  • Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns, coordinates, and implements school-based goals to the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the district.
  • Defines desired results and goals that lead to student improvement for all learners.
  • Conducts crucial conversations with individuals, teams, and staff based on student performance data.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the outcomes of the school improvement plan.
  • Creates and ensures a safe, clean, and orderly learning environment.
  • Works with staff to develop a research-based framework for effective teaching and learning.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of teaching and holds individual teachers accountable.
  • Builds strong relationships with the Superintendent, District Administration, and the Board of Education.
  • Creates a collaborative school community where staff, families, and the community interact regularly.
  • Demonstrates personal and professional standards that enhance the image of the district.
