About The Position

St. Wenceslaus School in Omaha is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as the Principal for grades PS-8, starting July 1, 2024. The Principal will be responsible for fostering a Catholic school culture, promoting academic excellence, and managing school resources effectively. This role requires a visionary leader committed to the spiritual, educational, and operational leadership of the school community.

Requirements

  • Active, practicing Roman Catholic in good standing required.
  • Master's Degree in Educational Administration.
  • Possess a valid Nebraska Educational Administrative Certificate.
  • 3 – 5 years of previous administrator experience preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years classroom teaching experience required.
  • Vision to ensure all students achieve college and career success.
  • Proven track record of increasing student achievement.
  • Expertise in PS-8 education with a strong ability to coach and develop teachers.
  • Success in leading both adults and students.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create a school community that upholds Catholic principles.
  • Cultivate a school culture rooted in Catholic values, fostering faith and moral development.
  • Lead prayers, liturgies, retreats, and sacramental programs, and coordinate parish-school partnerships.
  • Supervise the religion curriculum and ensure staff development to support the religious mission.
  • Set and communicate the school's educational vision and goals, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Support teacher development through professional growth opportunities and data-driven evaluations.
  • Oversee curriculum development, technology integration, and student achievement.
  • Manage faculty hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
  • Create and maintain a productive community with effective communication and shared responsibility.
  • Lead long-term planning and manage school resources effectively.
  • Maintain positive communication with stakeholders and facilitate regular updates on school initiatives.
  • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and diocesan policies, including financial management and accreditation.
  • Supervise daily operations, including teacher evaluations and student performance data analysis.
  • Promote positive staff morale and collaboration among teachers and the broader school community.
