Under the general direction of the District 7 Deputy District Director, Maintenance, the incumbent serves as the Assistant Deputy District Director, Maintenance Engineering. The incumbent oversees offices responsible for Highway Maintenance (HM) programs projects delivery, various State Highway Operation Protection Program (SHOPP) programs advisors including Emergency Major Damage Restoration, Pavement, Bridge, and Maintenance Facilities. The incumbent also oversees the Electrical Asset office and Electrical Region. The incumbent is responsible for assisting and supervising in all activities and procedures related to planning, management, design, project scoping and policy development in areas affecting maintenance operations within the boundaries of District 7.   • Oversees offices responsible for Highway Maintenance (HM) programs projects delivery
  • Oversees various State Highway Operation Protection Program (SHOPP) programs advisors including Emergency Major Damage Restoration, Pavement, Bridge, and Maintenance Facilities
  • Oversees the Electrical Asset office and Electrical Region
  • Assisting and supervising in all activities and procedures related to planning, management, design, project scoping and policy development in areas affecting maintenance operations within the boundaries of District 7
  • Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil, electrical, or mechanical engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
  • One year of transportation engineering experience as a Supervising level engineer in the California state service; or four years of transportation engineering experience as a Senior level engineer.
  • One year of managerial experience in the California state service equivalent in level to a Supervising Transportation Planner, or four years of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent in level to a Senior Transportation Planner.
  • Two years of civil engineering work at the Associate engineer level or higher in the California state service.
  • Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience equivalent in responsibility to a Senior or higher level engineer in the California state service.
