Interested in joining us on our journey? The Principal Tooling Engineer at GE Appliances is a recognized subject matter expert in a complex area. This role involves leading and managing tooling and equipment projects, contributing to the development of goals and operational plans, and ensuring significant improvements that impact the function's results. The Principal Tooling Engineer plays a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including experience in GE Appliances.
  • Bachelor's degree or tooling certification, with a hands-on approach.
  • Certified Lean Leader.
  • Experienced or certified in Six Sigma/Lean principles.
  • Certified instructor in RJG (RJG Inc.) processes.
  • Proficient in applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to drawing review.
  • Experienced and hands-on expertise in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for part and mold design.
  • Proficiency in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering).
  • Highly capable in MS Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the execution of tooling/equipment projects.
  • Develop and manage gate closure in the gated management process.
  • Ensure the delivery of project deliverables, including larger scopes
  • Develop and manage specifications.
  • Lead and manage design review processes.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Guide and direct part design and development efforts
  • Develop and manage tool/equipment qualification efforts
  • Lead, guide, and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Contribute, mentor, and provide training for the team's development
