About The Position

Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) is seeking an exceptional Principal Technical Program Manager to lead the end-to-end program execution for our next-generation advanced manufacturing facility. This role will serve as the single-threaded leader responsible for orchestrating all aspects of a complex, multi-year greenfield manufacturing site launch, ensuring on-time delivery with the capabilities needed to support scaled production of material handling equipment and industrial products.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
  • Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • 4+ years of leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion experience
  • Demonstrated experience launching greenfield manufacturing facilities or products from concept through production
  • Strong technical acumen with ability to understand and communicate complex systems architectures and integration requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single-threaded leader for the complete manufacturing facility launch program, owning all aspects of planning, execution, and delivery
  • Drive program strategy and execution across multiple concurrent workstreams including site selection, construction coordination, systems integration, workforce development, and operational readiness
  • Establish and maintain program governance structures, including executive reporting, risk management frameworks, and decision-making processes
  • Own the critical path and ensure all dependencies are identified, tracked, and resolved to meet launch timelines
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across 10+ stakeholder organizations including systems engineering, software engineering, facilities, real estate and construction, procurement, PXT, legal, safety, and finance
  • Lead all aspects of greenfield manufacturing facility establishment from site selection through operational launch
  • Coordinate with real estate stakeholders (FTR) and construction managers to ensure timely completion of building infrastructure to specification
  • Partner with construction teams to align facility delivery schedules with equipment installation and commissioning timelines
  • Drive facility readiness activities including safety certifications, environmental compliance, and operational infrastructure deployment
  • Manage permitting processes and regulatory compliance requirements in coordination with legal and safety teams
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans spanning 3+ year horizons with detailed milestone tracking and dependency management
  • Coordinate with global procurement leaders and manufacturing engineers on equipment procurement timelines and delivery schedules
  • Partner with systems engineering and software engineering teams to deliver integrated digital infrastructure including ERP, PLM, and MES platforms
  • Drive technical integration across manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and enterprise software platforms
  • Establish and track key program metrics including schedule adherence, budget performance, and capability delivery milestones
  • Manage program interdependencies between construction, equipment installation, systems deployment, and workforce readiness
  • Interface with executive leadership to provide program updates, secure resources, and drive strategic decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across systems engineering, software engineering, facilities, real estate, procurement, PXT, legal, safety, and finance organizations
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to resolve conflicts, align priorities, and drive consensus on complex technical and operational decisions
  • Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation strategies to diverse audiences ranging from technical teams to senior leadership
  • Coordinate with external partners including construction managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment with program objectives
  • Proactively identify program risks across technical, operational, and organizational dimensions
  • Develop comprehensive mitigation strategies and contingency plans for high-impact risks
  • Drive rapid problem resolution when issues arise, escalating appropriately and mobilizing resources to maintain program momentum
  • Establish early warning systems and leading indicators to anticipate potential delays or capability gaps
  • Manage program dependencies and ensure coordination across parallel workstreams
