About the position

The Principal Technical Architect at Disney Experiences is responsible for developing and overseeing technical solutions that enhance the digital and physical guest experience across various Disney brands. This role involves leading large-scale projects, influencing software design and development, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in software architecture. The position requires collaboration with multiple teams and stakeholders to define system requirements and drive innovation in technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop broad technical solutions that meet specifications and impact future development and operations.
• Own the analysis and design of software improvements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs.
• Plan and execute large-scale projects across the platform, including segment initiatives and updates to platform and infrastructure, products, and services.
• Lead the conception, design, development, testing, and implementation of software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications.
• Provide solution/design assistance to development teams and help them troubleshoot issues.
• Engage with users across teams to define system requirements and vital modifications.
• Lead and influence the direction and prioritization of the design and development of highly scalable software systems and applications.
• Engage in the estimation and planning of sophisticated scalable projects and their budget allocations.
• Design best practices for the maintenance and administration of systems, including software platform and configuration updates across multiple business units.
• Create processes, protocols, and procedures, and develop architecture, platform, and infrastructure plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressively related experience in Systems Engineering, Software Architecture, and/or software development.
• 5+ years influencing highly technical professionals across multiple portfolios.
• Confident, eloquent, and professional speaking and presentation abilities among groups, C-suite and higher-level leadership, and in virtual environments.
• Ability to lead multiple projects at a time over multiple teams and organizations.
• Ability to make quick decisions to tackle sophisticated technical and operational challenges in an agile environment.
• Experience documenting solutions using appropriate diagrams and tools.
• Demonstrated mentorship mentality, looking for opportunities to mentor and lead large-scope projects and initiatives across multiple teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Domain expertise in Ticketing/Entitlement Management systems.
• Experience working in a hospitality or travel industry.
• Advanced knowledge of systems applications and hardware, server architecture, operating platforms, NAS/SAN technologies, and internet and web applications.
• Proven experience with Cloud platforms.
