Here, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, integrity, performance, and collaboration.The Challenge AheadAs Principal Operational Readiness, you will provide senior leadership to ensure people, processes, operational technology systems, and tools are fully prepared for the safe, reliable, and value‑optimised transition of new or modified assets into operations. This is a pivotal role at the intersection of Operations, Technology, Projects, and Engineering. You will shape how operational readiness is embedded from design through to handover, influencing decisions that directly impact safety, reliability, and long‑term performance at Jansen. Success in this role means enabling Day 1 readiness while setting the foundation for sustained operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading Operational Readiness, Project Management, or Site Operations in complex, capital intensive environments.
  • Strong background in operational technology, mining operations, control systems, or industrial communications.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes across project, commissioning, and operational interfaces.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills across technical and leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and execution discipline supporting evidence-based decision making.
  • Required: Trade Certificate and Project Management Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Recommended: Tertiary qualification (Engineering, STEM, or Business) and advanced Project or Program Management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end Operational Readiness for technology operations, ensuring people, systems, processes, and governance are ready for safe and effective operations.
  • Build workforce capability through training, coaching, competency development, and clearly defined organisational structures aligned to steady‑state operations.
  • Accountable for the Potash Technology Training Needs Analysis across technology‑managed systems and platforms.
  • Ensure operational technology systems, including control systems, mining systems, and industrial communications, are fit‑for‑purpose, compliant, tested, validated, and supportable at handover.
  • Manage and report Operational Readiness progress against the READY plan, providing clear visibility of risks, dependencies, and mitigation actions.
  • Act as the Technology Subject Matter Expert for Service Design and Transition to Operations, supporting Service Owners, Project Managers, and Delivery Leads.
  • Develop, govern, and execute Operational Readiness plans, schedules, and deliverables integrated into project execution.
  • Own and coordinate the integration of technology work management processes between 1SAP and ServiceNow.
  • Ensure operating documentation, maintenance strategies, critical spares, safe systems of work, and support models are in place prior to handover.
  • Lead cross‑functional readiness forums, engage stakeholders across Operations, Projects, Technology, OEMs, and external partners, and ensure alignment across interfaces.
  • Identify, assess, and manage Operational Readiness risks using the enterprise Risk Management Framework, including governance, assurance, and Management of Change practices.
  • Embed Operational Readiness scope, cost, and schedule into project master plans and forecasts.
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership through field engagement, hazard identification, and participation in HAZOPs, CHAZOPs, and formal risk reviews.
