The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Software Requirements & Verification Lead to join our Tucson, AZ team in the Advanced Technology Effectors System Engineering Department. The SETC organization is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! As a Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Software Requirements & Verification Lead you will own the development and maintenance of all software and firmware level requirements and ensure traceability to tests needed to verify compliance to system requirements. You will contribute to specifications of major systems and subsystems in the product technical data package, coordinating across teams, sharing program process knowledge, mentoring engineers, and working with the technical and program leads to execute program tasks. This role is fully Onsite in Tucson, AZ .

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with at least one of the following: systems software, systems firmware, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Experience in test planning or verification of system requirements
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.
  • US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience in the Defense Industry and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
  • Experience using Agile framework development methods / processes
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Experience with performance analysis
  • Experience with embedded software or firmware algorithms on missile products
  • Experience with software or firmware requirements development
  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo and/or cPDM
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or Cost Account Management (CAM) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead, prepare and deliver technical briefs or presentations to the external customer in requirements and software working groups
  • Oversee updates and maintenance of all software and firmware level requirements ensuring requirements traceability to software tests and compliance to system requirements.
  • Provide planning and technical oversight into software verification and validation efforts to ensure all requirements are being assessed.
  • Lead Systems Verification Reviews with the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Integrated Product Team Leadership.
  • Review all test and analysis data to verify that the intended function meets the system level and contractual requirements.
  • Help to onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skills
