The Principal Systems Software Architect at Raytheon is responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges involving multiple subsystem and system interactions. This role requires deep knowledge and technical expertise in software and systems infrastructure and integration, supporting the Advanced Technologies Business Unit. The architect will work as an individual contributor and technical lead, focusing on software and system level integration, modeling and simulation, and rapid prototype software development.

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges involving multiple subsystem and system interactions.
  • Define team objectives and provide solutions to complex technical tasks including software and system level integration.
  • Engage in modeling and simulation, rapid prototype software development, and system integration with development pipeline and field demonstration.
  • Process real-world data and conduct trade studies in system and algorithm design.
  • Allocate and verify initial requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with Signal Processing (AMTI), Tracking, Communications, or Resource Management.
  • Knowledge of software architecture design principles, data structures, and abstractions.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, integrating, and validating software and/or system architectures.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, CUDA, and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Unix, GNU, and/or bash.
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.
  • Exceptional engineering analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Experience leading and training technical teams of junior to mid-level systems engineers and analysts.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools including SysML, Rhapsody, Magic Draw, and/or Cameo.
  • Experience in Open Architecture development including UML 2.0 & XML, Open Mission Systems (OMS), Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), and/or Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA).
  • Experience in Dev-ops automation on various operating systems including Linux.
