Requirements

  • 15-20 year of direct experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Systems integration as applied to Robotically controlled medical devices
  • Excellent understanding of Risk Management and Documentation practices for Mechatronic Medical Devices
  • Significant experience at the interface of Electrical, Software, Motion Control and Mechanical systems for Robotically Assisted Surgical devices
  • Significant understanding of the Design inputs and Design Outputs and their place in Product Development Process of Robotic Medical devices
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal that facilitate robust solutions
  • Demonstrated passion for product quality and continuous improvements across multiple functions

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop a deep understanding of user needs and business strategy
  • Maintain a broad, contemporary knowledge of electrical, connectivity and computing technologies and collaborate on product architectures that deliver performance, scalability and continuity
  • Develop and maintain architectural requirements that are aligned with product and corporate strategy, including features, interfaces, supply chain strategy, performance, cost and integration
  • Collaborate on integration projects such as ITP, room cabling, OR cameras, OR-resident Hub
  • Make major contributions to consistency in risk management and mentor other EEs in the role electrical functions play in it
  • Team with Multiport SW, EE, ME and CTE leaders plan the integration, management and error handling in multiport surgical systems including thermal management policy
  • Design Input: Performance hardware or system metrics that are key to safety and efficacy e.g. video latency, fault reaction details, and related areas
  • Design Input: Key interoperability requirements and interfaces, both internal and external
  • Design Input: improve serviceability and FRU requirements
  • Contribute to user documentation such as IFU, readiness guides and related documents
