About The Position

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer. They will be responsible for supporting the development and continual refinement of the organization’s systems engineering processes as well as leading milestone reviews and presenting to internal and external stakeholders. The goal of this position is to lead an integrated multidisciplinary team through analysis, integration, verification, and validation leading to new or updated products, mission operations and system disposal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • 8 to 10 years' experience in system engineering with at least 4 years of experience on full design cycle projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in the Space Hardware industry preferred.
  • Experience with system engineering and/or requirements management software tools preferred. (MBSE)
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation, modeling, and/or analysis software preferred.
  • Experience with numerical reliability and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Responsibilities

  • Identifies interfaces requirements and control of interactions across system and subsystem boundaries.
  • Leads the technical team in the development of verification and validation plans and test execution.
  • Utilizes digital requirement management tools to define, trace and integrate system requirements across system lifecycles and variant systems and product lines.
  • Manages and maintains stakeholder needs and transforms the integrated set of needs to design input requirements with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develops and reviews integrated system architecture utilizing trade studies to enable system design decision making.
  • Supports technical understanding and decision making using prior experience with system modeling and analysis.
  • Monitors and controls processes to ensure coordination of design changes and associated impact across subsystems.
  • Engages in quality control procedures to ensure that systems meet the organization’s quality standards.
  • Creates control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organization’s quality standards.
  • Understands external and internal systems as they are related to the project.
  • Facilitates various stakeholders to achieve integration of both technical and program objectives.
  • Provide leadership with respect to technical and logistical goals for milestone reviews/events and stakeholder engagement.
  • Evaluate performance milestone criteria and support the validation process.
  • Prepare technical progress reports for internal dissemination.
  • Exhibits company Values and Behaviors and holds project and mission managers accountable to same.
  • Responsible for traveling up to 30%, both foreign & domestic, to launch sites, customer facilities, and NASA/Government centers.
  • Responsible for working a flexible schedule to support launch & integration operations (to include weekends and/or holidays).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • May oversee small teams for specific projects or tasks.
