About The Position

Capstone Research Corporation, an engineering services company headquartered in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer. This role will support the United State Marine Corps (USMC) for a high-profile Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Marine Corps, Portfolio Capability Manger (PCM) Integrated Missile and Air Defense (IAMD) effort spearheaded out of Quantico, VA. The company provides world-class research and development support across the Department of Defense (DoD): Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Requirements

  • MS degree in an Engineering field or similar experience with 25+ years of technical Radar and Command and Control expertise and project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex system of systems integration efforts from initial concept definition through integration and test, incorporating complex threat scenarios.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with US military, mainly USMC and associated Type Commanders, training organizations and acquisition elements.
  • Experience integrating complex system of systems programs/projects across their lifecycle from concept definition through fielding and sustainment.
  • Experience with and in-depth knowledge of DoW operations, concepts, and technologies.
  • Ability to grow technical efforts and take on task leadership for the Company.
  • Good problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 6-12 trips per year with multiple destinations.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance TS/SCI required.
  • Must be US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead critical efforts to integrate IAMD capabilities into an overall USMC and Joint IAMD architecture.
  • Help support system architecture and design, systems documentation, systems requirements, and systems verification for integration and use cases to support high end warfighting requirements in various IAMD configurations.
  • Provide direct support to Government stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expert in IAMD integration for key technical projects including training, integration with existing systems such as Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Composite Tracking Network (CTN), Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), Medium Range Intercept Capability and other USMC systems, and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures development.
  • Coordinate and participate in efforts across the DoW services, to include multiple government and industry partners through leadership in related Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups.
  • Represent the CPM IAMD at USMC and Joint partners for inclusion in various Exercises and Test events.
  • Provide periodic program reviews and technical presentations to high-ranking Government and Military stakeholders.
  • Understand how the system fits into the broader IAMD Enterprise solutions and technologies to integrate advanced kill chain capability across multiple stakeholder projects.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for the to support the USMC IAMD efforts that align with Capstone Research's growth strategy.
