As a Principal Systems Engineer in the Space System Product line, your responsibilities will include working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create engineering solutions for airborne platforms. You will have the opportunity to support the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements, architecture, design, modeling, trade studies, and Integration and test. You will support key customer milestones and work with other talented engineers to solve challenging problems to grow within this established product area. This position is based out of our Hudson NH and Merrimack NH facilities and may require collaboration with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Requirements

  • Must currently possess a Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI/SAP/SAR clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math).
  • Experience defining, allocating, and validating and verifying system performance throughout the System lifecycle
  • Knowledge and experience with the Department of War project life cycle
  • Strong experience with mathematical model tools and languages; such as MATLAB, Python, etc.
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to time constraint
  • Attention to detail; possessing a drive for continuous improvement and product ownership
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills; a creative and proactive thinker who enjoys solving complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in being part of a multidisciplinary project team

Nice To Haves

  • Algorithm design, development and implementation experience
  • Working knowledge of Free Space and Laser Communication Techniques for Electro-Optical (EO) Infrared (IR) Systems.
  • Knowledge of SysML and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Masters in Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies and Tools
  • Basic appreciation of emerging technology trends such as advances in information theory, control theory, machine learning, cryptology and distributed systems
