The Effectors Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is currently hiring a Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Engineering Lead to join our Tucson, AZ location on the Coyote Block 2C-Navy program. SE&TC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. The Principal Systems Engineer – Systems Engineering Lead is a technical leadership role contributing directly to the requirements development and decomposition of complex system and subsystems as well as developing the verification approach. The Coyote Block 2C-Navy program is a rapid development program integrating Coyote Block 2C and associated launch systems onto US Navy ships.

Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience performing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
  • Ability to work independently and work with SMEs, CEs, LSEs, and other program stakeholders to make informed technical design decisions.
  • Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks
  • Experience with requirements management and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (i.e. Cameo)
  • Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities; working on rapid development programs or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Familiarity with DoD customer infrastructure and Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle; preference for US Navy requirements

Responsibilities

  • You will communicate to the Systems IPTL, Lead Systems Engineer, and Program leadership to provide team status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed.
  • You will develop system and subsystem requirements for complex systems by collaborating with several IPTLs and SMEs to obtain necessary design information.
  • Provide SE technical expertise in development, integration, troubleshooting and failure investigations
  • Lead technical discussions, and formulate plans of action by leveraging company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines
