The Systems Engineering (SE) Long Range Radars (LRR) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to contribute to concept development, architectural design, requirements generation and flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, testing, and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense and Sensor Systems. In this role, you will support the technical development and sustainment of the C5I product line, working on command-and-control systems. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define system requirements, design architectures and algorithms, and work closely with software development teams and onsite field support to ensure successful implementation. Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Requirements Analysis and/or Management using DOORS.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes.
  • Experience developing, documenting, and maintaining processes, methods and/or tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers and delivering technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Knowledge of complex command-and-control systems involving multiple sensors and effectors.
  • Familiarity with Link-16 networking and interfaces.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or PowerShell.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and supporting system architecture design and implementation.
  • Defining, documenting, and managing system requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining Interface Design Documentation.
  • Monitoring existing systems to identify bottlenecks, performing root cause analysis, and implementing improvements.
  • Analyzing data for operations center hardware, software, and simulations.
  • Using data analysis results to support issue identification and resolution.
  • Collaborating across engineering functions to drive performance and resolve technical challenges.
  • Assessing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
  • Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Presenting plans, designs, and system performance assessments to peers, internal leadership, and external customers.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.
