This position is project lead for physical modeling in the HyperLynx Advanced Solvers group. The core of this job is taking in customer layout data and preparing it for simulation in electromagnetic solvers in a meshed representation. This frequently requires manipulating the geometry, finding relevant and acceptable approximations, and conditioning the model/mesh for better solution results. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to creatively translate technical requirements into geometric processes. The team lead position is both technical and managerial, as it requires delegation of tasks to a small team, monitoring their progress, and ensuring the end results are acceptable. Also negotiating requirements with the field and working collaboratively to discover the best way to solve problems. Strong interpersonal skills are essential in this role.

  • Knowledge of 2D layout databases
  • 2D Geometry algorithms (e.g. scan-line algorithms, trees)

  • 3D Modeling
  • Position will require interfacing with 3D modeler tools, but direct knowledge is not necessary.
  • Meshing
  • Position requires creating meshes through 3rd party applications.
  • Directly meshing a model is not currently required, however knowledge of meshers and mesh algorithms may prove useful.
  • Physics Simulation
  • Knowledge of physics simulation techniques may prove occasionally useful in helping to isolate and problems
  • Signal/Power Integrity
  • As the end result of the tool is signal and power integrity modeling, it may prove occasionally useful to understand the end result of the simulation process.
