Principal Surgical Technologist
About The Position
In addition to performing the duties of the Sr. Surgical Technologist, the Principal also functions as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to new staff in the scrub role, assists with equipment repairs and maintenance, and is the key liaison with the Biomedical Techs. Assists the Perioperative Manager and Director with service related activities such as checking carts, ordering supplies, and identifying opportunities to streamline the operations relative to the role. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
Requirements
- Three years experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program; or equivalent experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated expertise in one complex surgical specialty or multiple surgical specialties
- Demonstrated skills in precepting, time management, and organization of supplies and equipment
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in customer service, problem-solving, and taking initiative
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
