About The Position

The Principal Supplier Performance Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Co. is responsible for overseeing supplier performance to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements. This role involves both on-site and remote oversight, development of supplier oversight plans, and coordination with various Westinghouse functions to drive supplier performance. The engineer will also engage in supplier development, technical evaluations, and lead initiatives for supplier improvement and qualification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
  • Experience in the Power Generation or Nuclear Industries preferred
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes such as precision machining, welding, and mechanical assembly
  • Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk)
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs
  • Experience leading multiple, concurrent cross functional projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Power Point
  • Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
  • Experience with nuclear products and standards desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure compliance with Westinghouse technical and quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to drive on-time completion of critical document submittals and manufacturing activities.
  • Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight.
  • Identify and escalate significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events, driving prompt resolution of issues.
  • Monitor key supplier performance metrics to proactively identify negative performance trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate procurement risk and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Own internal and external corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of actions.
  • Perform technical evaluations of new and existing suppliers to assess manufacturing capability and compliance with regulations.
  • Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products and cost reduction efforts.
  • Review and disposition supplier process documents and ensure clarity of engineering drawing requirements.
