About The Position

The Principal Supplier Engineer at Raytheon plays a crucial role in the Operations and Supply Chain organization, focusing on the planning and execution of production for various weapon systems. This position involves providing technical knowledge and process capability expertise to enhance supplier performance throughout all phases of the product life cycle, from proposal development to production implementation. The engineer will ensure that technical data packages are accurate and that supplier performance meets quality, cost, and schedule objectives, while also driving continuous improvement in manufacturing and quality capabilities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Experience with any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components, RF, or Optics
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage non-conforming product; Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support domestic travel as needed (Approx 25%)
