About The Position

The Principal Supplier Engineer at Raytheon will play a crucial role in planning and executing the production of various weapon systems, ensuring supplier performance through technical knowledge and process capability expertise. This position involves managing the entire product life cycle, from proposal development to production implementation, while driving design requirements to enhance manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality systems and/or technical supplier management
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Experience with any of the following commodities: energetics, propulsion, machining and or castings
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Experience working with multiple suppliers/vendors at the same time
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage non-conforming product; Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support domestic travel as needed (Approx 25%)
