Raytheon’s Commodity Supplier Assurance team has an opportunity for a Principal Supplier Engineer based in New York or New Jersey, who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier’s technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability. Principal Supplier Engineer will join our Electronics CCA group. Primary focus will be on Cables / Harnesses / Integrated Assy / Electronic Components. In total, they will support any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components and RF. (Experience in one of these commodities is desired, but not required.) This position entails assignment as a Principal Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer in the New York / New Jersey region of the US and is remote. Visits to local Supplier facilities will be required and will require a home office be maintained. Candidates are expected to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, to include driving up to 300-mile radius with some flying as needed. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems and/or technical supplier management
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Experience with any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components, RF, or Optics
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support domestic travel as needed (Approx 60%)
