About The Position

The Principal Supplier Engineer provides technical leadership for the custom integrated circuit (ASIC) program, while serving as the primary liaison for escalations to and from suppliers. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to address and resolve all component-related challenges throughout the supply chain including semiconductor manufacturing, testing, packaging, and assembly into finished goods. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implement strategies to drive cost efficiencies and operational improvements across receiving sites, while optimizing supplier selection and performance to support existing product lines and new product development. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Device Physics, Materials Science, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with semiconductor fabrication including knowledge of automatic test equipment and packaging
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical properties of compound semiconductors
  • Ability to travel up to 20% globally

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree with at least 7 years of experience with semiconductor fabrication
  • Experience with non-volatile memory technologies (e.g., EEPROM, Flash, OTP, SRAM, ROM)
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams, with the ability to influence stakeholders and achieve impactful results
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Proficient in statistical methods with hands-on experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Tableau, and Minitab
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills; ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with R D, manufacturing, and process development teams to determine the design, packaging, electrical testing, and mechanical requirements for ICs during new product development
  • Providing comprehensive support across new product development phases, qualification processes, and production release activities
  • Planning and managing all project phases and activities; lead engineers and cross-functional teams in qualifying and optimizing supplier processes
  • Ensuring seamless integration of new products and acquisitions into the BSC supply chain, while minimizing disruptions to existing programs or customer operations
  • Communicating effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and customer plant leaders to secure support and resources as needed
  • Partnering with the category team to sustain approved suppliers, identify new suppliers when necessary, and leverage market trends to enhance the category strategy and drive continuous improvement
  • Managing conflict and ambiguous situations with sensitivity and awareness; apply a solution-oriented approach to resolve issues
