The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software, and license configuration. Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. Full time 100% Onsite position.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: NetApp ONTAP (9.x+), RAID-DP, RAID-TEC, and ADP provisioning, VMware vSphere storage best practices (NFS, vVols, VAAI), Red Hat Enterprise Server, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
  • Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Linux Desktops, Windows desktops (Windows 10/11), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Scripting/automation PowerShell, Bash

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD TS clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification.
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or higher certification
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Scripting Experience

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain storage systems (i.e NetApp AFF/FAS and/or hybrid environments running ONTAP.
  • Manage storage provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning
  • Implement and support NAS (NFS, SMB/CIFS) protocols
  • Maintain multiprotocol access (Windows/Linux) and configure name-mapping, SMB encryption, and security best practices
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and firmware updates in accordance with vendor recommendations
  • Monitor and report system health and performance using Active IQ Unified Manager, Config Advisor, and other tools
  • Provide support for storage incidents, troubleshoot performance issues, and resolve problems within timely manner
  • Collaborate with teams and mentor junior admins.
  • Apply understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Apply understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
