This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Chantilly, VA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Signals Intelligence Mission Solutions (SMS) Department.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and have a Secret clearance at a minimum.
  • 5 years’ experience with Bachelor’s in science; 3 years’ experience with Masters; 1 year’s experience with PhD for Principal Engineer.
  • 8 years’ experience with Bachelor’s in science; 6 years’ experience with Masters; 4 years’ experience with PhD for Senior Principal Engineer.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, lifecycle design, and development.
  • Experience with detailed schematic capture and PCB layout.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidate with a TS/SCI clearance with/without Polygraph.
  • Experience with HDI PCB layout and in-circuit debuggers.
  • Experience working alongside mechanical engineers for PCB constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop microelectronics and reverse engineering.
  • Integrate complex electrical systems in tightly constrained spaces.
  • Conduct engineering development activities including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic and electromechanical systems.
  • Work with various computer/hardware interfaces such as USB, RS-232, I2C, SPI, JTAG, PCIe, SMBUS, and SATA.
  • Perform detailed schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout for analog, power, and high-speed digital circuits.
  • Develop firmware in C for Microchip PIC, Cypress, and NXP microcontrollers.
  • Train in basic Surface Mount Technology (SMT) soldering and assembly skills.
