About The Position

As a Principal Specialist, Material Program in Precision Navigation, you’re a self-starter, capable of developing and achieving program objectives in a matrix environment and able to successfully interface with functional and program leadership. In short, you’re able to lead and influence without direct reporting relationships. This role is in support of the Precision Navigation Portfolio.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Report on material risks and opportunities
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies and plans
  • Create, manage and execute material program strategy (MPS) and the material program plan (MPP)
  • Provide comprehensive Supply Chain support for Gates A-F, and ensure compliant programs and adjust as needed
  • Have overall ownership of the supplier management process including supplier performance, SCM metrics, Make/Buy Where strategy, strategic agreements, and communication of customer flow through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
  • Develop and lead supply chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates
  • Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives
  • Identify and develop opportunities for small business participation
  • Monitor and proactively address performance and financial metrics including those related to cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS
  • Develop and track budgets, targets, sales forecasts, short-range outlooks (SRO), material EACs, sales and operating Plans and Annual Operating Plans (AOP)
  • Act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for material
  • Flow down Supplier Management Best Practices to suppliers which include risk mitigation and subcontract management plans
  • Prepare and present presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
  • Interface with all levels of internal management
  • Work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
