Principal Solutions Consultant is a seasoned leader accountable for driving the overall strategy and execution of business development initiatives. They oversee a team of solution architects and analysts, guiding them in identifying, shaping, and closing new business opportunities. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of competitive intelligence, business requirements, and solution options, coupled with extensive experience in driving successful engagements across diverse industries and technology services. The Principal Solutions Consultant collaborates closely with executive stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion. They provide mentorship, coaching, and strategic direction to the solution architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization. This position manages people. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in obtaining results. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Takes calculated risks with consultation from the expert. Up to 25% travel.

  • Lead the strategic development of comprehensive solutions, leveraging extensive expertise in the technology ecosystem and WWT's internal capabilities to drive business growth and market differentiation
  • Drive the pursuit of strategic business opportunities, aligning internal teams and ultimately contributing to revenue and profit growth for WWT
  • Serve as a visionary client engagement leader, deeply understanding needs and addressing them through innovative solutions and transformative recommendations
  • Build strong internal WWT relationships across sales and services group, driving alignment and synergy in client engagement efforts
  • Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration in solution development, empowering teams to innovate and deliver transformative solutions that drive client success
  • Main contact between WWT and customer from beginning to end of a project, ensuring the team meets the customer's needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out consulting activities and methodologies leading to comprehensive discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations.

  • Ensure that all components and their usage are consistent and compliant with all applicable regulatory, departmental, IT, and corporate standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manage project risk, up/cross-selling, and oversight of team deliverables.
  • Contribute to the definition of industry best practice through subject matter expertise.
  • Support the organization as required, including project scoping, developing SOWs, and responding to RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Provide appropriate direction and feedback to team members.
  • Ensure that the team identifies, documents, and drives resolution for program issues.
  • Responsible for training and career development of Associate Consultants, Consultants, and Senior Consultants.
  • Mentoring and ensuring that the Associate Consultants, Consultants, and Senior Consultants are hitting target utilization and quality metrics in programs they oversee.
  • Budget and Financial Management of Projects and Programs
  • 15+ years of experience in Enterprise IT Management, technology consulting, customer engagement, solution design, or technology delivery.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Lead or Senior Consultant or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to strategically lead and execute business development strategies effectively, driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Team leadership of solution architects and analysts, guiding them in identifying, shaping, and closing new business opportunities to achieve organizational goals.
  • Deep understanding of competitive intelligence, business requirements, and solution options across diverse industries and technology services to make informed decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in system architecture, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior executive role in a customer or industry that WWT works with or supports, Such as Director of IT, VP of IT, CTO, or CTO.
  • Thorough understanding of at least one central WWT technology practice area, key technology partners, and market trends.
  • Post-graduate training in business-related discipline or management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building, and management skills.
  • Advanced client-facing skills, including analyzing complex problems and influencing and negotiating with clients.
  • Demonstrated technical consulting experience in one or more vertical sectors: government, public sector, higher education, finance, health care, technology, or other commercial.
