About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to act as a senior technical authority, leading the design and governance of enterprise-grade architectures for complex customer implementations. You will be responsible for end-to-end solution architecture, ensuring that systems are not only functionally correct but also meet high standards for performance, scalability, security, and maintainability. The position involves close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and customers, including IT leadership and enterprise architects, to ensure solutions integrate seamlessly into diverse enterprise environments. You will influence both product and partner strategies, provide architectural guidance across the delivery organization, and support the enablement of partner-led implementations. The ideal candidate thrives in highly technical, customer-facing roles, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on architectural execution. Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing enterprise-grade SaaS or hybrid architectures.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific field.
• Deep technical expertise in architecture, integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Experience with complex enterprise systems (ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES) and heterogeneous IT landscapes.
• Understanding of scientific R&D workflows, especially in life sciences or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in customer-facing consulting or professional services roles, including partner enablement.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with regulatory environments and standards (GxP, FDA, ISO, SOC 2, GDPR) is desirable.
• Optional certifications: TOGAF, cloud architecture, or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the design authority for customer solutions, defining logical and physical architectures covering applications, data, integrations, identity, environments, and operations.
• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple customer engagements and document trade-offs considering cost, complexity, scalability, risk, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with scientific architects and application scientists to shape functional requirements and own non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, resilience, and maintainability.
• Architect integration strategies using APIs, batch pipelines, event-driven patterns, and data platforms such as Databricks, ensuring compliance, auditability, and effective analytics.
• Define how platform solutions integrate with enterprise systems (ELN, LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES) and partner ecosystems, including joint technology portfolios.
• Act as a senior technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal teams, representing the architecture in cross-functional engagements.
• Mentor and guide solution architects, technical leads, and partners, creating reusable architectural artifacts, templates, and design frameworks.
