About The Position

The Principal Solution Architect is responsible for the leadership, analysis, design, and execution of Enterprise Solution Architecture (ESA) initiatives. This role supports our extraordinary company growth projections and digital experiences vision, while also managing short-term projects with defined deliverables. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with finance functions such as moving money, corporate actions, retirement processes, banking operations, payment systems, and ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on design and implementation experience in IT.
  • 3+ years of experience in application development, middleware, database management or operations, security, or integration.
  • Prior cloud experience.
  • Previous experience as a Solution Architect.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, especially wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, especially wealth management, banking and or Fintech.
  • Experience with domain-driven architecture, microservices, and API design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, Glue, Lambda, and RDS.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka or Kinesis.
  • Proficiency in defining current and future state architecture models.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud platform, with strong understanding of AWS security best practices and the Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience migrating monolithic on-prem applications to the cloud using refactoring, re-architecting, and re-platforming approaches, including 12-factor methodology.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, automated deployments, and containerization.
  • Coordinate and manage financial operations related to projects, including payment processing, ACH transactions, and money movement, with experience in cash management workflows, banking or lending solutions (such as securities-based lending or insured cash accounts), corporate actions, or move money operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise solution architecture modeling and design by collaborating with cross-domain architects and leadership to deliver domain-driven, scalable, service-based solutions.
  • Partner with engineering teams to collaborate and drive design and architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Implement and enforce architecture governance to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across solutions.
  • Develop blueprint architectures, including multi-year transition plans and recommendations to drive transformation and modernization for enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business, product, and technology teams early in the product lifecycle to infuse end-to-end architecture thinking-covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
  • Craft high-level designs early in the lifecycle and elaborate them into detailed designs as conversations progress.
  • Partner with Lean Portfolio Management to provide a high-level vision of enterprise solutions and development initiatives.
  • Assist the Agile Program Management Office (ACDC) in identifying and designing development value streams.
  • Participate in strategy development for building and maintaining the modern architectural runway via Enabler Epics.
  • Promote Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevSecOps capabilities.
  • Facilitate reuse of code, components, and proven patterns supporting modern architecture.
  • Deliver architecture aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and advocate for models and patterns that guide solution decisions.
  • Define the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management.
  • Create detailed work plans and schedules for project completion.
  • Determine resources required to complete projects and allocate them effectively.
  • Coordinate and manage financial operations related to projects, including payment processing, ACH transactions, and money movement.
  • Ensure compliance and alignment with financial functions such as corporate actions, retirement workflows, and banking standards.
