If you excel at building high-performance solutions and want to make an impact in defense and aerospace innovation, we want to hear from you.   What we are looking for:  We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Lead with an extensive history in simulation technologies, real-time systems, and high-performance software development. This role will lead the design and implementation of advanced solutions for complex, distributed environments, leveraging their experience in defense, aerospace, and immersive simulation platforms.

  • Architect & Design: Define and own the architectural decisions for training simulation and visualization systems.
  • Ensure interoperability across distributed simulation environments (DIS/HLA standards).
  • Development & Integration: Lead the development of real-time applications using C++ and modern 3D development platforms for simulation and training solutions.
  • Lead the integration of hardware and software components for simulation solution programs.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor engineering teams on best practices for performance optimization and modular design.
  • Provide technical direction, conduct design/code reviews, and guide teams through complex problem-solving.
  • Drive adoption of modern tools for 3D graphics, game engines, and sensor integration.
  • Set coding standards and enforce best practices across teams.
  • Innovation & Strategy: Evaluate emerging technologies in AR/VR, simulation frameworks, and AI-driven modeling.
  • Contribute to long-term product strategy for immersive and mission-critical systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in simulation technologies and real-time systems.
  • Proven track record in defense/aerospace projects and distributed simulation environments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in C++, C#, and experience with Unreal or similar game engines.
  • Knowledge of network protocols for simulation (DIS/HLA) and sensor integration.
  • Familiarity with GPU programming, 3D rendering, and performance optimization.
  • Soft Skills: Proven experience leading engineering teams, setting technical direction, and influencing organizational strategy.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
