About The Position

HPE's Private Cloud AI organization is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to support our AI Essentials product. HPE AI Essentials is a software solution within HPE's Private Cloud AI platform designed to accelerate AI productivity and streamline AI operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop major aspects of our product: you will be expected to take on difficult problems that don't have clear solutions, and to design, build, and iterate until we've reached elegant solutions that delight our customers. Along the way, you will work in a supportive and collaborative environment, with the opportunity to contribute across the stack based on your interests and experience.

Requirements

• Expert level proficiency in Linux and Kubernetes Platform architectures
• Prior experience with Kubernetes Storage related design/architectures (CSI, Persistent Volumes)
• Deep understanding of backup/restore technologies and products
• Excellent analytical, debugging and problem-solving abilities
• Strong knowledge of container architectures including Docker, Cri-o, Preferred
• Experience with Virtualization (VMWare/KVM)
• Expert level proficiency with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge about distributed systems, microservice design
• Knowledge about Kubernetes CNI

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, QA) to deliver technical solutions that align with business goals
• Architect, design, and develop highly scalable and resilient AI Essentials platform features and solutions, focusing on cloud-native principles
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning Kubernetes, Server, Storage, Networking, and Cloud domains
• Develop innovative automated solutions to accelerate software engineering practices working along with partner teams (DevOps, Engineering, QA, GTM)
• Design and develop backup/restore strategies and solutions for the AI Essentials platform use-cases
• Mentor and guide engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
