About The Position

GST is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support the NOAA team in monitoring and building monitors for active STAR tasks. Assist in the evolution to cloud environments, e.g., Amazon/NCCF. Provide evaluation of design and implementation of software systems. Analyze, assess, review, rewrite, and test program code as appropriate according to contract specifications. Primary Duties: Capture installation, configuration, and maintenance procedures. Continue to develop monitors, independent of the compute infrastructure Provide architecture and design advice regarding new capabilities and changes that benefit systems Analyze, assess, review, rewrite, and test program code as appropriate according to contract specifications. Perform development and implementation related activities for various programming applications. Test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology. Provide evaluation of design and implementation of software systems. Required Education/Experience/Skills: M.S in EE, CS or other mathematically and technically oriented fields Must have an understanding of NOAA/NESDIS/STAR computing infrastructure Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements. Salary at GST is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000 to $200,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range or this position and is just one component of the GST total compensation package for employees.
