Principal Software Engineer - Santa Clara - Hybrid

Gigamon is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer/Architect for a growing Cloud & AI team. We are looking for someone who has a strong sense of product ownership, can technically guide the engineering team, work with the product management team to define the roadmap and engage with sales teams and customers as needed. This position requires a strong technical leader with a proven track record of building innovative products in AI, Cloud, and Networking.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on technical leader who is passionate about building great products
- Ability to drive Innovation that is at the core of Gigamon's Cloud and AI Suite of products
- Deep knowledge of networking architectures and standards in public, private, and hybrid clouds
- Proven track record of building products in private and public cloud platforms like VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Containers
- Experience working with AI technologies - LLMs, RAG, Embeddings, ROCE, AI network Infrastructure
- Experience building highly scalable enterprise AI applications
- Extensive experience in micro services architectures, scaling, and load balancing
- Ability to translate a high-level vision into an executable plan from a technical perspective
- Ability and willingness to mentor technical leads and larger engineering team
- Strong communication skills, ability to handle roadmap changes, and multi-task on various projects
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with UI/UX and front-end engineering is a plus
- Experience building network management systems is a plus
- Experience working on Analytics and Security products is a plus
- Experience working with distributed teams is a plus
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the direction and architecture of Gigamon's Cloud and AI Suite of Products
- Work with Product Management, Sales teams, and customers to help define and execute the Cloud & AI Roadmap
- Work with engineering management, technical leads, and the engineering team to execute and deliver products and features
- Lead and approve functional and design specification reviews
- Mentor technical leads and junior team members
- Engage and participate in the release management process and decisions
- Engage in key customer and partner discussions that define the direction of products
