The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC with the capability to efficiently handle large data streams. Thanks to its integrated design, this solution empowers teams to operate with increased agility and deliver significantly superior performance compared to CPU-based alternatives.
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our DPU Build and Tools team responsible for leading software projects for Automated Test Platform and associated tools, integrating with build flows/pipelines. You will bring your Software Engineer experience to contribute to DPU Test Infrastructure and related software. Your contributions will have a wide impact across Azure through the development of the latest generation PCIe adapter cards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• 7+ years technical engineering experience with developing Test automation systems/platforms for embedded systems.
• 5+ years of experience with web and REST (Application Programming Interface) APIs apps
• 5+ years of experience working in projects related to tooling, automation and test frameworks/infrastructure, in a SWE capacity.
• 3+ years of experience working with software build, build pipelines and processes (build and release mgmt). C/C++
• 2+ years of experience with embedded systems
• 3+ years of experience in automating infrastructure (on-prem, cloud)(infra orchestration)
• 3+ years of experience in monitoring&logging systems, data analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure: networking, storage, embedded systems, or operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Experience with containerized, virtualized environments. Micro-services approach.

Responsibilities

• Test infra
• Redesign/refactor existing Automated Test Platform to meet new standards for reliability, scalability, performance and security
• Improve and maintain infrastructure that allows DPU engineers to test their code on emulators and pre-production silicon/systems.
• Work with engineering teams to identify future requirements for automated test platform, infrastructure, test frameworks and automation
• Develop test-related tooling, frameworks, and automation that improves developer productivity
• Build Infra
• Integrate with build infra.
• Help DPU team move existing build infra toward Azure services and platforms while keeping existing hardware and software development making rapid progress
