The Principal Software Engineer is a pivotal leader in the organization, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)across full stack, front-end and backend. This role involves making strategic decisions to enhance system scalability, security, and performance, while championing the highest standards in coding, testing protocols, and automation strategies. The Senior Principal will drive the design, provide inputs on architecture and delivery of transformative applications that align with user requirements and business objectives along with upholding enterprise standards. Their expertise will be instrumental in optimizing SDLC processes and pioneering new technologies. This role demands a profound technical mastery and the ability to mentor and inspire engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Requirements

  • Initiate and lead projects utilizing cutting-edge technologies to significantly improve system performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions that set industry benchmarks.
  • Provide technical on-call support and respond to incident inquiries as needed.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for advanced UI/UX enhancements by partnering with cross-functional leaders .
  • Leverage user feedback to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor, cultivate and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders to align strategic priorities.
  • Guide and develop best practices in software engineering and agile development, while leading enterprise-wide initiatives aligned to the strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Exhibit deep expertise in multiple programming languages and lead the development of multiple mission-critical applications.
  • Serve as a distinguished subject matter expert in SDLC across full stack, back end and front end.
  • Lead the adoption of emerging technologies positioning the organization at the forefront of technological innovation.

  • Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year.
  • Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
  • Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December.
  • You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
