Collins Aerospace’s Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Integrated Mission Systems. Our Principal Software Engineer, Product Owner/CAM Engineer will work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our Principal Software engineers utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures, development and delivery of high-quality mission critical software. The candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the software discipline in addition to the Product Owner and CAM for a Software Team Interacting with the Systems Engineering Team, Software Architects, Scrum Masters, and Software Engineers, supporting a large program. This position will support the shaping of the future of defense systems for the armed forces.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date
Previous experience as Product Owner following Agile / SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
Previous experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
Previous experience as CAM (Control Account Manager)
Experience with DO-178 certification activities for software developments, Programming Language C, GUI Framework: A661 Tools: Visual Studio, Simulink, VAPSXT, VISTA, PREP, Jama, JIRA Protocols: ARINC 661, ARINC 665, ARINC 653, ARINC 424

Nice To Haves

Experience with Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
Experience with Requirements Management (Decomposition, Derivation)
Experience as a Software-System engineer
Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools
Experience with Jira

Responsibilities

You will act as Product Owner, bridging the Software Team and the Systems Engineering Team, helping us define and manage our backlog and execution
You will work directly with the IPT Lead, Scrum Masters and Software Engineers performing Software-Systems work used in a Mission Critical System program
You will act as the CAM (Control Account Manager) for the scope related to your team, ensuring flawless execution
You will interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a large program
You will have the opportunity to mentor Interns, Junior, Senior, and Principal engineers
