About The Position

As a Principal Software Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you are supporting the development of state-of-the-art flight critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation applications. You are a member of the engineering team responsible for the design, development, and verification of real-time embedded software. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing software architecture in an embedded software environment.
  • Full life-cycle software development experience.
  • Experience with DO-178 (Level A) or similar military standards
  • Experience managing projects and tasks across functional teams and geographic locations
  • Experience with software verification testing
  • C, Assembly, and/or Python programming experience preferred
  • Experience using logic analyzers and other lab test equipment

Responsibilities

  • You will do Software Design, Development, and Verification Tasks
  • You will manage translation of customer requirements into software requirements
  • You will coordinate tasks
  • You will review software requirements to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • You will manage implementation of software requirements using design models (flow diagrams) and/or software code (proprietary language)
  • You will review of software design and code to ensure compliance with software requirements
  • You will generate, run, and review test scripts and data to support software verification test activities
  • You will generate documents to support aerospace certification
