Role Summary Join our innovative team as a Principal Software Engineer in Boston, MA, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medication management. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to lead one or more talented engineering teams in delivering high-quality software solutions that enhance healthcare outcomes. You will report to Director of Engineering. Team Summary Our Medication Management engineering team builds mission-critical solutions used by over 170,000 healthcare providers every day. We empower providers to make informed, personalized clinical treatment decisions in partnership with each patient, regarding their medications, vaccines, and medical supplies. Our collaborative, mission-driven team is passionate about making a meaningful impact on healthcare outcomes, leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve patient safety and streamline workflows. Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, strong product development background.
  • Proven experience leading full‑stack development teams, including technical mentoring and design oversight.
  • Proficiency in React, modern frontend architecture, core web technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Java
  • Solid experience with relational databases and data modeling.
  • Experience with various system architectures and distributed systems, including monolith, microservices
  • Experience with generative AI and AI-assist software engineering tooling
  • Strong communication, ownership, and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • GraphQL experience is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality code within an agile cross-functional team.
  • Own and author clear, detailed technical designs that guide implementation and align with architectural standards and business objectives.
  • Propose scalable and maintainable solutions and provide reliable estimates for development efforts.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and performant code while adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to uphold engineering excellence.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the medication management domain to act as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Take ownership of deliverables and coordinate cross-team efforts to ensure successful execution.
  • Drive continued adoption and effective use of AI tooling to achieve business outcomes
  • Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for software development.
  • Engage in cross-team initiatives to enhance overall product quality and performance.
