About The Position

NVIDIA is now looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the GDN team. The Graphics Delivery Network is a groundbreaking platform that lets developers stream applications to their users, leveraging the capabilities, performance, and reach of the GeForce NOW infrastructure. We are expanding GDN to combine AI to provide interactive experiences. We are seeking a dedicated Principal Cloud Software Engineer to join the GDN team. You will be working on creating solutions that go from cloud services on AWS (and others) to running Kubernetes-based solutions and integrating system-level dependencies like Vulkan, Windows/Direct3D, and Unreal. We are looking for a candidate with experience across both OS system-level experience and cloud services.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 15+ years of hands-on experience building complex services.
  • Expertise in Go and working with cloud services.
  • Have designed and implemented high-scale, reliable systems.
  • Deep understanding of HTTP REST API, gRPC, security, and networking, along with a good grasp of API development influenced by UX/UI/CLI requirements.
  • Ability to drive pragmatic technical discussions towards practical solutions that are clean, reusable, testable, and extensible.
  • Dedication to collaborative development approaches, with the capability to impact daily operations across teams and collaborators.
  • Strong debugging skills to pinpoint underlying issues and enhance the technology stack, working closely with colleagues and team members like DevSecOps and SRE or those with equivalent experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a demonstrated history of being a standout colleague.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the game industry with Unreal Engine
  • Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Golang, Gatling, Python, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, and Redis.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, highly interactive environment, driving team success.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, plan, implement, and operate cloud services relating to video technologies
  • Collaborate and integrate system and runtime integration problems across the Vulkan/Proton team and video streaming teams.
  • Work with game and application developers and our internal platform/performance teams for optimizations in Unreal
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach by supporting, maintaining, and detailing software functionality.
