About The Position

We are building a unified data platform to serve 20+ product modules, enabling ingestion, processing, and retrieval of data to power analytics & systems at scale. This role is part of the Data Activation & Analytics charter under the Unified Data Platform umbrella, focused on designing and developing a self-serve analytics platform with semantic & modelling layer, DSL based query layer & analytics backwards materialization layer. The platform will support both custom dashboards that product teams can build on their own & also ready-to-embed analytics modules. You will lead the design, architecture & development of this platform alongside senior architects, solving deep problems in DSL based query expressions, sub-second read latency ,multi-tenancy, high concurrency, OLAP modelling and secure data access. You will be working closely with senior engineering leaders, mentor senior/junior engineers and problem solve with product teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong focus on data platforms and analytics systems.
  • Proven expertise in building low-latency, highly concurrent microservices in the Data Platform space.
  • Deep knowledge of fact/dimensional modelling in data lakes/warehouses.
  • Strong understanding of OLAP workloads and hands-on experience with MPP/OLAP datastores such as StarRocks, Apache Pinot, or Apache Druid.
  • Good understanding of OLAP/MPP DB internals(infra, performance, scale).
  • Proficiency in JVM-based languages (Java, Scala, Kotlin).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building DSL-based query services is preferred.
  • Experience in building ETL for powering analytics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Author functional/non-functional specifications and design documents
  • Design and implement automation of infrastructure setup using helm, terraform and similar technologies.
  • Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code
  • Work alongside Site Reliability Engineers and cross functional teams to diagnose/troubleshoot any production performance related issues
