At Workday, we are seeking highly skilled Principal Full Stack Engineers to contribute to a cross-functional team building transformative AI agents for HR & Finance. This role is crucial in implementing tooling strategies, staying informed about industry trends, and ensuring our AI-driven solutions integrate effectively within the Workday stack. Your technical contributions and team-first attitude will play a key role in delivering high-impact products that scale our AI capabilities and help global organizations simplify complex business processes.

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver AI-powered agents that integrate deeply into HR and Financial workflows, accelerating intelligent decision making.
  • Participate in a supportive, iterative team culture that values curiosity, learning, and strong engineering practices.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of your teammates through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Take ownership of multiple functional areas in our platform — from development to production ('you build it, you run it').
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 7+ years experience with a web development framework (Python preferred: Flask, Django, or FastAPI).
  • 5+ years of experience with React and Typescript for Front End / Full stack development.
  • 8+ years with a Relational DB (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Familiarity with the tradeoffs and architecture of modern distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices (DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch.
  • Experience working within fast-paced, agile environments and multi-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating complex problems into clear, thoughtful solutions.
