About The Position

The Translational Medicine department at Genentech provides translational research to inform clinical development in disease areas of Ophthalmology, Metabolism, Neuroscience, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases (TM-OMNI). Our research encompasses cutting-edge support of clinical biomarker discovery and development, development of personalized healthcare strategies, and clinical translational research to study the molecular and cellular pathways driving disease to generate novel target and biomarker approaches. We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist to join TM-OMNI to drive biomarker and drug development and/or translational research efforts in neurodegenerative diseases. Our department is responsible for identifying novel approaches to treat these neurodegenerative diseases using preclinical and clinical translational research; designing, implementing, and interpreting biomarker results; and establishing new ways to speed clinical development through biomarkers. Our group uses relevant human clinical samples and deep molecular and cellular phenotyping approaches to evaluate disease heterogeneity and disease modification by therapeutics to guide assessment of disease pathogenesis and drug discovery and development.
