The Principal/Senior Consultant - IT Data/Systems Management position at Montrose is a fully remote role focused on providing strategic support for EHS & Sustainability information management systems. The consultant will lead projects that involve implementing commercial off-the-shelf systems, managing data processes, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires strong project delivery skills and expertise in emissions inventory management, with a commitment to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.

  • Evaluate AS-IS processes with clients and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop TO-BE requirements and document gaps in processes.
  • Translate business requirements for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate the gathering of business requirements for COTS software setup.
  • Architect and lead systems/reports for emissions calculations and analysis.
  • Create and review design specifications, test scripts, and training guides.
  • Develop project plans and define action items for execution.
  • Manage various EHS&S information management software applications.
  • Recognize and escalate conflicts between clients, staff, and software vendors.
  • Streamline technical delivery of Management of Change and QA/QC activities.
  • Develop staff's mastery of EHS processes and technical knowledge.
  • Support business development and sales activities.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing environmental, health, safety, and/or sustainability projects.
  • Strong comfort level with technology and its application in project delivery.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Excel, SQL, Crystal Reports, and environmental management software.
  • Experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously, with budgets around $500,000.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing projects and client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in consulting, sustainability, environmental health and safety, and IT.
  • Experience with Sphera Environmental Accounting, Enablon AQS, Cority Enviance, or Intelex ACTS.
  • Familiarity with emissions inventory management systems.
