About The Position

The Principal Security Engineer at Syniverse plays a critical role in resolving project-critical situations and contributing to leading-edge technology solutions. This position involves working on large-scale, strategic cybersecurity projects within a complex technical environment, focusing on the telecommunications ecosystem. The engineer will design security principles, conduct assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing guidance to less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of multiple security frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant operating systems and communication interfaces.
  • Expert knowledge of security design and testing principles.
  • Expert knowledge of log aggregation and event correlation strategies.
  • Expert knowledge in the telecommunications industry.
  • 10+ years of Cyber Security Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and document security principles across multiple project teams and applications.
  • Investigate and analyze requests for application security, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and execute security test plans, analyze results, and revise applications as necessary.
  • Lead planning for acceptance testing and implementation of new security framework components.
  • Research, assess, and facilitate the adoption of new technologies.
  • Create a structure and design framework for security measures in telecommunications protocols.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing on telecommunication systems.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy telecommunications monitoring capabilities.
  • Automate network traffic analysis for security incidents and misconfigurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network security.
  • Stay updated on security threats and trends in telecommunications.
  • Provide training and support on telecommunications security best practices.
  • Participate in incident response and forensic investigations.
