About The Position

As a Principal Security Engineer - Azure Storage, you will lead security architecture and threat modeling for Azure Storage, mentor engineers, and champion a security-first culture across the organization and help make Azure storage the most trusted platform. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in security fundamentals, including cryptography, authentication, authorization, secure coding practices, and threat modeling.
  • 2+ years in understanding authentication protocols, authorization frameworks, network isolation, and incident response.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale services in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience with familiarity in Azure services and cloud-native architectures, and hands-on experience with compliance frameworks such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), System and Organization Controls (SOC), and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
  • 2+ years experience with proficient communication and leade

Responsibilities

  • Lead threat modeling and risk assessments for Azure Storage services.
  • Define and implement security architecture for distributed systems at cloud scale.
  • Partner with engineering teams to embed security principles into design and development.
  • Evangelize security culture through training, reviews, and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and foster growth in security expertise.
  • Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Drive incident response readiness and participate in live-site security reviews.
