The Department of Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalytics (PDMB) at Spring House Innovation Park is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist to join the Early Development Vaccines group, with particular focus on developing and running assays in support of Phase I and II trials. The primary role of the successful candidate will be to support and contribute to vaccine analytical strategy, assay development and clinical studies through targeted serological or cell-based bioanalytical assays. The successful candidate will be a scientific leader, with a passion for developing assays, have expertise in immunogenicity, delivering high quality data, and helping teams choose the right assays for data-driven decision making. A record of accomplishment of successful collaboration while working in cross-functional project teams is expected. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for mentoring, scientific supervision, and training scientists.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology/Virology/microbiology or equivalent bio-related science with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • M.S. in biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology/Virology/microbiology or equivalent bio-related science with 10+ years industry related experience.
  • B.A./B.S. in biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology/Virology/microbiology or equivalent bio-related science with 14+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in biochemistry, molecular, cellular biology, virology or microbiology assay development and optimization.
  • In-depth understanding of the drug discovery and/or development process and comprehensive knowledge of bioanalytical and/or vaccine clinical testing principles.
  • Strong technical expertise in bioanalytical assay design, development and execution.
  • Advanced knowledge in immunological assay development (ELISA, our Company, Luminex).
  • Trained in GxP as it applies to regulated bioanalysis.
  • Ability to understand and implement applicable regulations regarding the use of pathogens.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting experimental design, assay development and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead the development of new, innovative approaches in molecular biology.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in ELISA, our Company, Luminex or similar immunogenicity assay development.
  • Familiar with liquid handlers and other automation platforms for sample preparation and assay process.

Responsibilities
