Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medicinal Chemist to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This role will play a key part in advancing antibody‑drug conjugate (ADC) programs within our Oncology portfolio, contributing scientific leadership from discovery through development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of academic / industry experience (10+ years preferred) OR Master’s degree and 6+ years of academic / industry experience (8+ years preferred) OR PhD in Chemistry and 4+ years of experience (6+ years preferred).

  • Prior experience supporting and advancing antibody‑drug conjugate (ADC) programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design and execution of multistep syntheses of complex organic molecules using modern synthetic methodologies.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a deep understanding of reaction mechanisms and synthetic strategies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and synthesize linkers and payloads to support ADC programs in Oncology.
  • Contribute to program strategy, experimental design, and data interpretation in close collaboration with cross‑functional project teams.
  • Apply advanced organic chemistry techniques and contemporary medicinal chemistry approaches to solve complex, project‑specific challenges.
  • Communicate scientific findings clearly and effectively through team discussions, reports, and presentations.
