About The Position
As a Principal Risk Associate at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable. Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. We are currently seeking a results driven professional with outstanding problem solving skills and strategic orientation to join the Enterprise Risk Management team. Strong attention to detail, process management, and communication capabilities are essential for this role. This individual should feel comfortable navigating through the “grey” area and formulating problems and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of Risk Management experience
- At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business partners
Nice To Haves
- 4+ years of Risk Management experience
- 3+ years of Financial Services Risk Management experience
- 3+ years of Process Management experience
- Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional projects
Responsibilities
- Drive process improvements aligned to enterprise risk management objectives, including creation of new risk processes
- Lead or support projects specific to strategic alignment across risk identification, risk appetite, and metric processes
- Perform analysis leveraging data and insights to define problems and identify solutions
- Liaise activities across multiple teams to ensure alignment of priorities and strategies
- Support governance activities, including management of controls, audit, exams, and data governance
- Support reporting processes, including creation of executive level risk reports and presentation
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and leaders across organization to achieve objectives
