Visa Research conducts both applied and fundamental research, aiming to push the boundaries of payment-related technologies on a global scale. We partner with Visa’s technology and product teams, global business units, academic institutions, and government agencies to explore and develop transformative technologies that will shape the future of payments and impact billions of people worldwide. As a Principal Research Scientist in Quantum Information and Computation, you will play a pivotal role in defining and advancing Visa’s long-term research agenda in this field. You will lead high-impact research initiatives, mentor and develop both junior and senior scientists, and serve as a thought leader influencing Visa’s strategic direction. Your work will focus on pioneering quantum algorithms and computational models applicable to finance and payments — including areas such as portfolio optimization, risk analysis, and derivative pricing. This role offers the opportunity to guide cutting-edge research from conception to implementation, foster collaborations across internal and external stakeholders, and represent Visa as a leader in the global quantum research community. The ideal candidate will be an established authority in the field, with a distinguished record of research contributions, demonstrated leadership in complex projects, and a passion for developing talent.
