At NVIDIA, we’re solving the world’s most exciting problems with our unique approach to accelerated computing. We’re looking for passionate technologists with deep quantum computing domain expertise to path-find the future. As a Principal Quantum Systems Research Scientist for Quantum Computing Applied Research, you'll lead the systems engineering to design, develop, and test the integration of QPUs into a fault-tolerant Accelerated Quantum Supercomputer, and work with multi-functional teams in Product, Engineering and Applied Research. Quantum computing is a strategic priority for NVIDIA, and our goal is to help accelerate the entire ecosystem. In this role, you’ll join a rapidly growing Quantum Computing team, and work with partners across the industry. You’ll determine technical requirements of a complex hybrid quantum-classical system, engineer and integrate complex subsystems, and develop the design, analysis, and test for the system. Do you love engineering complex systems for controlling a quantum computer and working at the speed of light with collaborative people and teams all around the world? If yes, we would love to hear from you!

  • Path-find technical innovations in quantum-classical systems design and integration, working with multi-functional teams in Product, Engineering, and Applied Research
  • Develop novel approaches to real-time calibration supported by rigorous systems analysis for a variety of qubit modalities
  • Research and co-design integration of classical control systems, QPUs, and heterogeneous GPU and CPU compute, including computation and communication requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on developing technology requirements and system components to enable fault-tolerant quantum computing
  • Adopt a culture of collaboration, rapid innovation, technical depth, and creative problem solving
  • PhD Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive background in Quantum Information Science and Systems Engineering with 12+ overall years of experience in the Quantum Computing industry
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver high impact value in quantum computing systems design
  • Hands-on experience working with several different types of qubits and controller systems
  • Hands-on experience with co-design of control systems with qubit architectures, ideally including communication and networking techniques
  • Working knowledge of methods of measuring and benchmarking quantum systems
  • Adoption of AI and ML techniques
  • Experience with CUDA and NVIDIA GPUs
  • Passion to drive technology innovations into NVIDIA software and hardware products to support Quantum Computing
  • NVIDIA offers highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • You will also be eligible for equity and benefits
