Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Principal/ Quality Engineer - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Chandler, AZ . The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting integration and test activities for mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical assemblies used in various space launch vehicles. Specific duties may include: supporting development of processes and procedures for the assembly and test of mechanical/electronic assemblies; reviewing and approving drawings; documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions; supporting required MRB processing; perform inspection of components and assemblies; supporting manufacturing activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations; reviewing design changes on WIP or completed assemblies; analyzing data for trends and recommending changes to improve process and product quality, interfacing with suppliers for auditing and corrective action/continuous improvement related to component assemblies and parts. In this job, you will: Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. This is a dual level req, which can be filled as a Quality Engineer (level 2) OR Principal Quality Engineer (level 3)
